Thanks so much for spending time with me here today!
I have something to share with you. It's quite personal and normally I would not blog about my vulnerabilities but despite my natural reticence I feel inspired to keep my fingers tapping over the keyboard and simply type out my feelings.
I watched a video this morning and it got right under my skin. It had such a profound and expansive effect on my thinking (and how am feeling) that I felt compelled to share it with you.
Now this is where it gets personal:
I've been struggling with some health issues for the past few weeks. It's nothing new, and nothing that I have not recovered from before, but I've been in remission for some time and I had forgotten how tough it can be (psychologically and emotionally) to be in a body that can't do what you want it to do and quite simply hurts from top to toe.
You see generally I'm a quick response, "let's do it", get -up-and-go kind of person, and right now it is not on my agenda to be laying flat on my back for several hours a day.
Anyway I'm telling you this because in the last few days I have been just about knocked off my tracks. I frankly I'd be a fool if I tried to get back on them right now. Sometimes however much determination you have in you it gets to the point where you simply need to stop - take a deep breath- and evaluate the situation.
Well I'm there, and finally I am happy to shift down a gear, get some introspection and start thinking in a different way. I have had to accept I can not change my situation by trying to move forward, I can only make a change by BEING still and work with what I've got...
Then I came across this video....
I have now watched this three times in the last 24 hours...
..and each time I view it, the message washes over me and erodes a little more of my habitual (effective till now) coping strategies and gently moves me into a fresh thinking space where I am finding a deeper, more peaceful and wiser part of myself - actually the part of me that helped me get fit strong and vital the last time round.
It is amazing to consciously re-engage with my personal and spiritual power on a deeper level, and I can feel the life force coursing through my veins again. A new form of strength is returning and its more flexible and durable that the energy I was living by before...
So I was wondering, do you want some of that too?
Here is the background to the Video:
Meet Lewis Pugh. Lewis is an Advocate for Mother Earth and all her children. Extreme Swimming is the vehicle, he uses to campaign for and protect our environment.
Would anything on EARTH motivate you to swim across a frozen sea?
Lewis Pugh heard of Mt. Everest's Lake Imja -- a body of water at an altitude of 5,300 meters, entirely created by recent glacial melting -- and began a journey that would teach him a radical new way to approach both swimming and change.
I was going to say a whole bunch of stuff about what you would experience watching the video, but hey, that would spoil it for you, so I'm goig to keep my review to myself and trust that you will find out what I'm not taking about in the next few minutes.
What I will say is that if this doesn't have a powerful impact on you then you don't have a beating heart in your chest (no offence)
Watch it and then do a little bit of deep thinking and in your own time answer these questions. You wont regret it:
- What kind of mindset do you need to achieve of complete a TASK or Challenge now.
- What RADICAL & TACTICAL shift will you make to overcome your self imposed and unconscious programming and limitations?
- How can and will your actions and commitment contribute to and change YOUR World and THE WORLD for the better?
- What are you going to do on a personal and Global level to ensure your children and grandchildren have the best start in live and thrive?
I hope you discovered something new about yourself today, I certainly did.

Thanks Maya for sharing this. It is inspiring. Lewis Pugh shows that you can accomplish the seemingly impossible if you have the right mindset.
Amazing!!
Maya – what a powerful video and message for us all.
It helps to remind me that we are not in a sprint, but a marathon of life. Each day is anew and all things are possible. When we can quiet ourselves enough to hear the unconscious dialog that whispers in our minds everyday undetected and secretly holds us back from our own potential, we can consciously change it.
Thank you so much for sharing your very personal story, Maya and for sharing this inspiring message with us all.

Debbie what a great comment. I agree that making quiet time to listen to our unconscious dialogue is a vital component in change.
I have also found that we can, with practice, go deeper than that and sink peacefully into the divine wisdom that is our true nature. I have experienced that when we remember our divinity and let it rise to the surface it brings Light to our misconceptions of ourselves and Life and the illusion of struggle falls away.
Thank you so much for your participation in this discussion I appreciate it.
Maya,
Awesome post! I like your question about: “What RADICAL & TACTICAL shift will you make to overcome your self imposed and unconscious programming and limitations?” Sometimes that is the very 1st thing we need to recognize the limit we put on oursleves in order to have breakthough!
Thank you for shaing!

Kelly,
Thank you for the wonderful and thoughtful comment. I appreciate the interaction.
Yes it is so important that before we try and move forward that we take a look at what we are doing that has held us back because most of the time we are just living our habits thoughtlessly.
